About Me
I have been fortunate enough to work in the performance industry for over 15 years, and it is a journey I remain incredibly grateful for. At my core, I love to perform, bring happiness to others and, hopefully, inspire people along the way.
I have always been an energetic and charismatic person, and over the years, I have been able to channel those qualities into a career that I genuinely love. What began with dance has grown into a diverse professional journey, allowing me to perform, present and host across live events, social media platforms, advertisements, pre-recorded television and live TV.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to dance, teach, judge competitions and MC at dance events across the UK, each experience helping me grow both personally and professionally.
Dance is where it all began for me, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. It is something I hope to continue doing for the rest of my life, alongside the exciting opportunities that have come my way in more recent years.
More recently, I have also ventured into acting, taking on leading roles in pantomimes, as well as exploring modelling. These opportunities were somewhat unexpected, but incredibly welcome, opening doors to new experiences and allowing me to challenge myself in ways I hadn't previously imagined.
Hosting and presenting have also become a huge part of my journey. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, engaging audiences and creating memorable experiences, and I am always looking for new ways to develop these strengths and push myself further.
Looking back, I feel incredibly fortunate to have had so many amazing experiences and to have met so many wonderful people along the way. I hope to continue this journey for as long as I can, while also using what I have learned to support and encourage young people and others who are working towards their own goals.
If I can help someone pursue what they love, give them the confidence to take that first step, or simply inspire them to believe in what they can achieve, then I consider that a success in itself.
Christopher Donnelly
History and where it began
Like many dancers, Chris’s journey began in 2006, when he took his very first dance lesson and was immediately hooked. The music, the people, the atmosphere — he knew he had found something special.
After three years of training, learning and developing his craft, Chris landed two of his biggest opportunities to date: performing alongside Cheryl Cole for Fight for This Love on The X Factor, and taking part in George Sampson’s comeback performance on Britain’s Got Talent. These experiences only fuelled his hunger to pursue dance professionally and see just how far he could take it.
However, after suffering a serious ankle injury that left him out of action for almost seven months, Chris found himself at a crossroads. With the financial realities of a career in dance becoming increasingly apparent, he and his friend Wesley Clack decided to take one final leap of faith before considering hanging up their trainers for good.
Putting their skills, creativity and determination to the test, the pair entered Sky One’s reality dance competition Got to Dance. After two auditions and three live performances, they were crowned the 2011 champions — a moment that would change their lives forever.
Their victory launched them into the spotlight, leading to performances across the country at a variety of events and venues, including Butlin’s, the Formula 1 pre-race show at Silverstone, and television appearances on programmes such as Sam & Mark and Match of the Day: Kickabout.
Since then, the boys have continued to build on that success, exploring new opportunities and developing their own individual careers alongside their work together.
Chris has gone on to expand his experience across the entertainment industry, taking on roles in theatre, television commercials and, more recently, modelling — all of which he has thoroughly enjoyed.
Alongside his performance career, Chris has also developed a passion for hosting and presenting. Combining his love for the stage, performance and connecting with audiences, this has become an exciting new chapter in his journey, one he hopes to continue exploring for many years to come.
With plenty more aspirations, ambitions and dreams still to fulfil, Chris remains as enthusiastic as ever about what lies ahead. After all, the journey is far from over!
